I finally un****ed my forum account just so I could post in this thread, and to condense all my thoughts down to a single sentence fragment, the past day has been eye opening. To say the least.
I am not going to fall victim to hysteria. I will however not renew my subscription if there is no solid denial of sandbox-altering MT content within a reasonable timeframe, within about the next week or so. Everyone in this thread has raised reasonable concerns; no one in this thread is whining, and though there is a good bit of hysteria present in this thread I'd be a ****ing moron if I said it was baseless.
As many others have said, the silence from CCP so far has been deafening.

You should try to read first few pages. There is an reply from CCP *-forgot his name-* NO we wont implenet things in NEX which wil **** up the sandbox.
Um. That seems to be bull****, since that's what most people in this thread are upset about. But thanks for playing.

Are you going to **** the EVE Online sandbox over for Monetary Transactions or not? If not, all is forgiven. If MTs are going to impact the sandbox, start printing your resumes and god help you all.
The designs we will implement in game will not **** over the sandbox.
@players / Just so you know. All that "now laughable attempt of rage" is pointless. It just proves you are beyond help in your own imaginary world.
Why do I get the sense that all this is just waaaay over your head? Did you not read the "Fearless" newsletter entitled "Greed is Good"? I think it was made pretty clear in that pdf that ruining the sandbox (with MT items and ships) is precisely what CCP has in mind.
You're not going to earn any friends at CCP by having contempt for the legitimate concerns of other players, so please stop posting.

I find it extremely humorous that a pencil-pusher/number-cruncher from CCP's marketing and research division knows more about the game and community than the man responsible for the game's vision and direction, probably because he has (surprise!) actually played the game. This man is not a hero, but he is a brave man nonetheless. I hope he is not targeted by management for what he's already said.

Originally by: solar wave is it me or have they just lowerd the player cap in Jita from 1600 to 1500?
There's no player cap, you just need to spend 500 Aurum to make the jump now.

Originally by: solar wave well it looks like you got CCP's answer to all of this shouting, they just lowerd the cap in jita another 100!!!!
It's funny how they're able to ban folks on the forums and deploy techs to counter the riots yet they can't pull Hilmar away from his golf game long enough to get a coherent answer to the question that's on the collective mind.

Meh. I won't be around if people can pay to win like that.
Pay to win is NOT an inevitability. I am 100% against that.
But paying for certain advantages that do NOT affect the economic balance of the EVE universe probably are.
Wake up.

Oh lord, he's afraid of saying anything lest he make it worse.
I can't wait to hear the news they're just dying to tell us that will somehow make things worse.

Are u truly believe in this? Iraq is just the matter of OIL! Non less! And government are hiding its intension's saying something stupid like "it's for the peace in the world" they do not have right to invade to Iraq!

If you think that that is the case you can take your turn at the CCP funny farm. That wasn't a discussion document, that was an announcement with a safety disclaimer. They meant every damning word of it, and CCP is only sorry because it came out like it did. The only way to avoid it is to get rid of MT in EVE entirely. Anything else CCP simply can't be trusted with. It really is that clear cut right now ...
I think this may have been the best quote in this entire sordid issue.
